NZRA was at the Jim Fournier Rocky Mountain Rumble Peewee hockey tournament this past weekend for some exciting racing. While there were not any record breaking times, the ice surface in Steamboat is Olympic. Traditional US rinks are 200′ by 85′, and Olympic size rinks are 210′ by 98′. This additional size obviously takes longer to clean, regardless the drivers put up solid results given the additional ice surface.
As a side note: the Highland Hills PeeWee B team took first place in the Jim Fournier Rocky Mountain Rumble, putting on an impressive show… This group of youngsters is starting to turn some heads as they have started out the season with an impressive 8-0 record.
